Warranty Information

Manufacturer Warranties

Every new unit we sell, including full systems, condensers, air handlers, mini-splits, and package units, is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Coverage terms and lengths are set by each manufacturer and vary by brand and model.

1. Register Your Unit

Most brands require registration within 60 to 90 days of installation for the full warranty term. Unregistered units usually default to a shorter base warranty.

2. Keep Your Invoice

Your Total Cool invoice is your proof of purchase. Register with the model and serial numbers on the unit's data plate.

3. Install It Right

Professional installation by a licensed HVAC contractor may be required to keep the warranty valid.

4. Need a Claim?

Bring us your model number, serial number, and invoice, and our counter team will help you get it started.

What Manufacturer Warranties Generally Cover

Compressors and sealed-system components per the manufacturer's stated term, and functional parts found defective in materials or workmanship. Labor, refrigerant, and installation costs are generally not included unless the manufacturer states otherwise.

Individual parts such as motors, capacitors, and thermostats carry the manufacturer's defect warranty for that part. Refrigerant and other consumables are not returnable.
